Online Images, Video, & Music + Copyright

Grabbing online images, video, or music to put on your website or in school projects requires, by law, that you follow specific guidelines under Fair Use

Here's a brief breakdown of how to use video, music, and online images:

Video/Motion Media:
10% or 3-minutes (whichever is less) of copyright works that has been lawfully acquired. Credit the original artist/creator.

Music:
Up to 10% or 30 seconds (whichever is less) of a song. Consider fading songs in and out to make it fit your project. Be sure to credit the original artists.

Clipart, Images, Photographs:
No more than 5 images by a single artist. Images in the Public Domain, Creative Common, or your own original works are your safest route. Be sure to read the usage "rights" or "license" before using an online image.
